DIY - Tools of the Past
Published on 11th February
As part of our history topic, year 1s have been learning about life in the Stone Age. They found out about cave paintings, the invention of farming and early settlements such as Skara Brae, and how Stonehenge was built, among so many other things. They had great fun exploring different materials to make pots, built settlements and Stonehenge using some very creative construction, and created wonderful pieces of art. Then they explored the new inventions of the Bronze Age and Iron Age, learnt to weave, and made 'iron' weapons and coins, and finished off with a 'virtual' Iron Age feast. This is just some of the fantastic learning that the year 1s at home have done this term. Well done Year 1.
