Thursday 10th December saw the launch of ‘The Field Study Centre @ Loseley’ with our science extravaganza STEMFEST.
We made full use of our new purpose built science classroom with each year group in school having an opportunity to use the new bespoke lab.
We would like to say a big thank you to the following special guests who joined us and ran exciting scientific experiments and workshops for the children
- Andrew Hanson MBE from the National Physical Laboratory
- George Abbott’s Surrey Science Learning partnership
- Guildford’s Royal Grammar school
-Surrey Wildlife Trust
- University of Surrey’s widening participation and outreach team
Their talks and experiments included a STEM in a box coding activity, building chemistrees , learning about circuits with light up Christmas cards, creating hedgehog homes, water experiments and a talk on how to save our living planet.
The Loseley Fields teachers also ran a whole host of experiments alongside these.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and we can’t wait to see them making use of this wonderful facility on a regular basis.
